September 1986, the bodies of two young boys are discovered alongside an abandoned railway track outside Metz. It is the start of a tragic story that will become the “Patrick Dils Affair,” one of France’s most symbolic wrongful convictions. It isn’t just a miscarriage of justice, it is a story of undaunted human struggle.

It is the battle of a mother who becomes a warrior and takes on the judicial system. It is the battle of a 16-year-old boy (Patrick’s age when he was arrested) who spends 15 years getting ground down in prison, before finally being exonerated and released.

It is the battle of ordinary people, who’d never had any prior run-ins with the law, who have to dig down deep inside and tap a well of courage they didn’t even know they possessed, to defend the truth all by themselves.

The true story of one of the biggest French miscarriage of justice.
